New hydrazinium fluorocomplexes of iron (N2H5)(3)FeF6, (N2H6)(2)HFeF6.
2H(2)O and (N2H5)(2)FeF5 were isolated from aqueous solutions and char
acterized according to their chemical analysis, X-ray powder diffracti
on data and Mossbauer spectra. Both (N2H5)(3)FeF6 and (N2H5)(2)HFeF6.2
H(2)O display paramagnetic Mossbauer spectra down to 5 K, while the Mo
ssbauer spectra of (N2H5)(2)FeF5 reflect magnetic ordering at 13.5 K a
nd a saturation magnetic field of 426 kG. These data are characteristi
c of one-dimensional magnetic systems. Studies of the samples thermall
y treated up to 738 K confirmed the course of the thermal decompositio
n processes, giving mostly mixtures of FeF2 and FeF3.
