Abstract
A self-routing packet switch with all-optical signal path demonstratin g photonic time division multiplexing, demultiplexing, and routing inf ormation processing is presented. Routing information is extracted usi ng a new and extremely simple method of optoelectronic correlation. Th e opportunities and limitations of this approach are discussed from th e viewpoint of systems applications.
