Abstract
The alpha-alpha differential cross sections are analyzed in the optica l model using a double-folded potential. With the knowledge of this po tential bound and resonance-state properties of alpha-cluster states i n Be-8 and C-12 as well as astrophysical S-factors of He-4(alpha,gamma )Be-8 and Be-8(alpha,gamma)C-12 are calculated, Gamma(gamma)-widths an d B(E2)-values are deduced.
