Iv. Aleksandrova, INTERACTIONS OF STRUCTURAL UNITS AND THE STRENGTH OF THEIR FIXATION IN MOLECULES OF HUMIC-LIKE SUBSTANCES, Eurasian soil science, 26(2), 1994, pp. 35-43
Experiments on condensation of phenols, nitrogen-containing compounds,
and carbohydrates indicated the diversity of pathways of formation of
humic substances, which can have both monomers and polymers as struct
ural units. Nitrogenous and carbohydrate components of newly formed hu
mic-like substances have different degrees of resistance to acidic hyd
rolysis due to the nature of the initial components and the strength o
f bonds between them.
