Abstract
Image contrast in the coherent confocal scanning microscope with apodi zers has been discussed. This technique is used for minimising the sec ond moment of the diffraction intensity distribution in conventional m icroscopes. The present investigation has been carried out with both o bjective and collector lenses apodizers. This kind of apodization mini mises the sparrow resolution. Three different sets of apodizers have b een used in the present work.
