Abstract
A case is presented of an unusual rupture of the ventricular septum du e to a kick from a cow. The 7-year-old boy developed acute cardiac fai lure. The electrocardiogram showed anterior and apical myocardial infa rction. Two-dimensional color and Doppler echocardiography revealed a rupture of the ventricular septum. The traumatic ventricular septal de fect was successfully closed using a right atrial approach.
