Abstract
Four children with beta-thalassemia intermedia ages 7 to 11 years deve loped a clinical picture characterized by headache, hypertension, conv ulsion, and cerebral hemorrhage after blood transfusion. Successive tr ansfusions did not result in a similar picture. Factors responsible fo r this syndrome are discussed.
