Abstract
Five derivatives of methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, in which the subst ituents form noncyclic structures, have been prepared as model substan ces for possible structural elements formed on reaction of polysacchar ides with epichlorohydrin. The substances were converted into the perm ethylated alditol-1-d derivatives and characterised by CIMS and EIMS.
