For a modified discrete self-trapping dimer the Feynman top formalism
is used to obtain the second conserved quantity. As a result, three co
mpletely integrable cases are shown to possess Hamiltonian structure.
Despite the existence of two conserved quantities blow-up occurs in on
e of the cases.
