Abstract
A method for ground measurement of the spectral brightness coefficient s of natural formations is described, Results obtained using this meth od are used to calibrate aerospace remote sensing data. Various aspect s of the method are discussed (choice of a standard reference, viewing angles and the height of the Sun, sizes of test areas, wavelengths, s pectral resolution, etc.) and a number of practical recommendations ar e given.
