Abstract
Data from aircraft experiments is used to analyse the information cont
ent of spectrometric measurements of the brightness of the sea surface
and the factors influencing it, based on fractal representations of t
he nature of the studied phenomena. It is shown that satellite measure
ments require the use of 'differential height' methods of atmospheric
correction such as those used for the MKS M.
