Abstract
We study the classical dynamics of N fully interacting charged particl es, confined to a plane and subjected to a transverse magnetic field. We solve for the exact motion numerically, and interpret our results w ith the aid of approximate analytical models. The cluster is dynamical ly bound by the magnetic field, and we find that for large initial den sity both the minimum density attained at short times and the final eq uilibrium density are independent of particle number.
