Abstract
Heat transfer characteristics of transpiration cooling devices encompa ss Stanton numbers and the temperature increase in the transpired wall . These were calculated for ideal transpiration cooling and for transp iration cooling of a permeable or perforated wall with a turbulent bou ndary layer covering its surface and compared with experimental result s for full coverage film cooling.
