Ms. Park et al., NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS FOR COUPLED HEAT AND MASS-TRANSFERBETWEEN A DESICCANT FILM AND AIR IN CROSS-FLOW, International journal of heat and mass transfer, 37, 1994, pp. 395-402
Heat and mass transfer with a uniformly distributed falling liquid des
iccant film in a cross-flow parallel plate gas-liquid heat exchanger i
s predicted, and the results compared with experiment. The process air
is in cross-flow over the desiccant film. Refrigerant flows through t
he heat exchanger tubes and removes the heat of absorption for dehumid
ification and supplies the heat for regeneration. The governing equati
ons, boundary conditions, and interfacial equilibrium conditions for t
he concentration, temperature and pressure are presented. The problem
is more complex than for cocurrent or countercurrent flow, as it is fu
lly three-dimensional.
