Protective relaying algorithms are developed for extracting 50 Hz comp
onent of generator stator signals and 100 Hz component of rotor curren
t signals. These frequency components are used for detecting the inter
nal short-circuit and rotor overheating condition of generators. The p
roposed algorithms were satisfactorily tested for various simulated co
nditions of the system.
