Abstract
A simple model making it possible to describe interaction between phot ons and nuclei in the energy range 200 less-than-or-equal-to E(gamma) less-than-or-equal-to 500 MeV is proposed. The cross sections of pion- free photoabsorption by several nuclei are calculated. It is shown tha t it is important to take into account pion absorption by quasi-deuter on pairs. The dependences of the Levinger numbers on the mass number o f a target nucleus and on the energy of an incident photon are analyze d.
