J. Parapar et al., TAXONOMY AND ECOLOGY OF ANNELIDA OF THE I BERIAN PENINSULA - POLYCHAETA FROM THE RIA-DE-FERROL, Cahiers de biologie marine, 34(4), 1993, pp. 411-432
As a result of a wide project-guided to characterize the fauna and flo
ra of the Ria de Ferrol (Galicia, NW Spain), we present in this work 1
2 species of polychaetous annelids from the intertidal area and sublit
oral infaunal benthos of this ria. Phyllodoce longipes Kinberg, 1866 a
nd Octobranchus lingulatus (Grube, 1866) are recorded for the first ti
me in the littoral of the Iberian Peninsula. Harmothoe nigra Alaejos,
1905 tor the first time after its original description and Vermiliopsi
s striaceps (Grube. 1862) for the first time in the atlantic coasts of
Spain. The juvenile stages of Marphysa belli (Audouin & Milne-Edwards
. 1833) and M. sanguinea (Montagu, 1815) often attributed to other eun
icid species. are described. Finally, for six species with a scarce kn
owledge in our waters, we make some precisions about their morphology
and ecology : Phyllodoce groenlandica Oersted, 1843, Paranaitis koster
iensis (Malmgren. 1867). Harmothoe antilopes McIntosh. 1876, H. ljungm
ani (Malmgren, 1867), H. longisetis (Grube, 1863) and Gyptis capensis
(Day. 1963).
