Abstract
We describe a patient with left parietotemporal hemorrhage with select ive acalculia for addition, multiplication, and division, lout with an intact ability to subtract. There was no impairment in the ability to distinguish mathematical signs. This case suggests that different pro cessing systems are responsible for each of the basic arithmetic opera tions.
