W. Konrad et al., A COMBINED EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDY OF A 3-DIMENSIONAL SUPERSONIC TURBULENT BOUNDARY-LAYER, Experimental thermal and fluid science, 9(2), 1994, pp. 156-164
Experimental and numerical mean data are compared in detail for a thre
e-dimensional supersonic turbulent boundary layer generated by an isen
tropic compression. Three distinct flow regimes were identified in the
mean flow field. Turbulence intensities measured in the three-dimensi
onal flow are compared to corresponding two-dimensional adverse pressu
re gradient flows to determine the effects of three-dimensionality.
