A 2 8/12 year old boy presented with osteochondromata of the sternum,
left clavicle, proximal epiphysis of the left humerus, and of the left
carpalia as features of dysplasia epiphysealis hemimelica (Trevor-syn
drome). The clavicle showed a lateral osteolysis. This is the first de
scription of the involvement of sternum and clavicle. In cases with se
emingly rapid onset the differential diagnosis of Trevor-syndrome incl
udes malignancies. Modern imaging methods are not superior to conventi
onal radiography which can establish the correct diagnosis especially
when carpalia or tarsalia are involved.
