Abstract
Variations of the relative intensities of the Lalpha1, Lbeta1 and Lbet a2,3,15 lines of gold on their photoexcitation with the continua of x- ray tubes with W and Mo targets were measured at operating voltages fr om 15 to 20 kV. The standard procedure for calculating the fluorescenc e intensity of an x-ray line excited by a polychromatic x-ray beam was suitably modified to calculate the relative intensities of these line s. The factors responsible for the differences between the experimenta l and calculated values are discussed.
