Hh. Xie et al., A COMPARATIVE-STUDY ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ELECTROACUPUNCTURE AND AQUAPUNCTURE STIMULATION ON INFERTILITY DUE TO INACTIVE OVARIES IN DAIRY-COWS, American journal of acupuncture, 22(3), 1994, pp. 263-270
Fifty-seven dairy cows that were diagnosed with infertility due to ina
ctive ovaries were divided into four groups and treated with electroac
upuncture, aquapuncture, hormones or no treatment, respectively. After
insemination, the pregnancy rates were 80% in the electroacupuncture
group, 46.7% in the aquapuncture group, 73.3% in the hormone group and
16.7% in the untreated group. Four cases that did not respond to horm
one treatment conceived after receiving electroacupuncture. Levels of
milk progesterone levels were monitored in all groups.
