Abstract
Berea sandstone is widely used as a model rock for studying fluid flow through porous media. Firing has been a common step in core preparati on. Changes in properties of Berea sandstone caused by firing were det ermined from petrophysical measurements and petro-graphic studies. Res ults show that firing usually creates more problems than it solves. Us e of fired cores generally should be avoided.
