Abstract
We have carried out synthesis and X-ray structural study (DARCH, MoK(a lpha) radiation, graphite monochromator, theta/2theta scan mode, 2thet a less-than-or-equal-to 65-degrees) of the CuNO3.C6H11N pi-complex (a = 14.346(6), c = 16.719(7) angstrom, space group 14(1)/a, and Z = 16). The bifunctional (bridge and chelate) tridentate molecule of diallyla mine cross-links the inorganic component into infinite spirals oriente d along the axes 4(1) and 4(3). The mainly covalent character of the C u+ ...NO3- bond affects the hydrogen bond strength and the efficiency of the metal-olefin interaction.
