Aj. Parkin et al., FURTHER CHARACTERIZATION OF THE EXECUTIVE MEMORY IMPAIRMENT FOLLOWINGFRONTAL-LOBE LESIONS, Brain and cognition, 26(1), 1994, pp. 23-42
In this article we describe a 41-year-old man who, following an operat
ion to repair a ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm, manif
ested the ''hallmark'' features of a dysexecutive memory impairment. O
f particular note was the patient's apparently normal level of recogni
tion memory but impaired recall on tasks matched for difficulty in con
trol subjects. However, further testing revealed that the patient's re
cognition memory was not normal under all circumstances. Implications
of these data for the interpretation and further investigation of the
dysexecutive deficit are discussed. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
