Abstract
While rare, mycotic aneurysms of the aorta have a high mortality rate from immediate rupture and late complications. The case of a patient w ith a ruptured mycotic aneurysm is presented, and the important role o f scintigraphic studies in the early detection of complicating extensi ve soft-tissue infection and osteomyelitis is demonstrated.
