We report on a Samoan man with dysphagia, voice hoarseness, facial ery
thema, and edema. Neurologic examination revealed hypesthesia at the s
ite of the facial rash, enlarged auricular nerves, a right facial pals
y, decreased gag reflexes, and voice hoarseness. Laryngoscopic examina
tion showed paralysis of the left vocal cord, and a barium swallow rev
ealed a possible compressive lesion. A skin biopsy specimen was diagno
stic of tuberculoid leprosy. This patient has an unusual case of lepro
sy with multiple cranial neuropathies.
