ESR line width was measured in polythiophene heavily doped with ClO4-
as functions of both temperature and frequency. We studied the dynamic
s of charge carrier with spin. The temperature dependence was explaine
d by the Elliott mechanism, indicating the existence of metallic elect
rons. The frequency dependence demonstrated that electron spins are in
the state of diffusive motion in quasi-one-dimension. These experimen
tal results were interpreted in a consistent way, yielding the paramet
ers characteristic of the electronic structure like effective mass and
mean free path.
