Abstract
Three spectroscopies; the attenuated total reflection (ATR), the forwa rd scattering (FS) and the combined photoacoustic-attenuated total ref lection (PA-ATR) are employed to determine the various propagation len gths; the intrinsic, directional and multiple scattering for the surfa ce plasmons on evaporated noble metal films of different surface rough ness.
