Abstract
Advances in laparoscopic surgery have changed our approach to many sur gical problems. We describe a technique of laparoscopic adrenalectomy in patients with primary aldosteronism using an anterior transabdomina l approach. The left adrenal gland was approached through the root of the transverse mesocolon, the right adrenal gland through the subhepat ic space. The patients were discharged within 24 to 48 h with normal b lood pressure after discontinuation of antihypertensive medication. Th is technique is safe and allows the patient to return to normal activi ty sooner than with conventional surgery.
