In this paper we study the geometric properties like connectivity and
convexity of digital objects in terms of mathematical morphology. A ne
w definition of digital convexity is suggested. Connectivity and conve
xity of digital objects obtained through morphological operations are
investigated in the light of this new definition. This Paper also pres
ents some morphological algorithms for computing topological propertie
s like connectivity number and genus. Operations are simpler, faster a
nd can be implemented on parallel machine.
