The application of the chemical iodometric determination of S(IV) and
of a physical conductometric method allows to determine the activity o
f catalysts of biological origin (mainly manganese- and iron-contamina
ted litter of pinus species). The discrete measurement permits the inv
estigation of many samples within a short time. A comparison of the re
sults of these two methods, which are based on different analytical pr
inciples, allows to evaluate the results obtained by the conductivity
method.
