Ga. Grishin et al., TEMPERATURE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BLACK-SEA FROM SATELLITE DATA AND CONTACT MEASUREMENTS IN WINTER, Soviet journal of remote sensing, 11(2), 1994, pp. 193-205
The paper discusses the results of the recovery of the sea surface tem
perature (SST) in a large-scale hydrological test area. Data from the
NOAA AVHRR radiometer (APT mode) and measurements of the surface tempe
rature by a sensor towed by an RV, by an 'STD' sensor and by drifting
'LOBAN TM' buoys were used. The paper describes the data measurement a
nd processing methods. Maps of the spatial distributions of the SST ar
e compared. A numerical estimate of the accuracy of the recovery of th
e SST field from satellite data is given.
