Chinchillas immunized parenterally with a type b Haemophilus influenza
e (Hib) conjugate vaccine (ProHIBiT) intended as a marker for serum tr
ansudation into the middle ear were shown to have Hib-specific antibod
y in middle ear lavage fluids after induction of an upper respiratory
tract infection with adenovirus serotype 1 but not before, despite evi
dence of seroconversion.
