Abstract
The lineshape and the degree of linear polarization of the hot photolu minescence of crystals of the GaAs type are studied theoretically as a function of the energy of the exciting light. Analytic expressions ar e derived for the lineshape of the hot photoluminescence and also for the distribution of the degree of linear polarization over the line.
