A. Saito et al., LOCALLY DELIVERED MINOCYCLINE AND GUIDED TISSUE REGENERATION TO TREATPOST-JUVENILE PERIODONTITIS - A CASE-REPORT, Journal of periodontology, 65(9), 1994, pp. 835-839
A CASE OF POSTJUVENILE PERIODONTITIS in a 28-year-old female patient i
s described along with new periodontal treatment modalities. Administr
ation of minocycline-HCl with local drug delivery system was introduce
d as a part of initial periodontal therapy following microbiological a
nd immunological examinations. The lesions were subsequently treated b
y guided tissue regeneration, which resulted in considerable gain of a
ttachment with minimal recession of marginal gingiva. This observation
suggests that the local delivery of antibiotics and regenerative ther
apy may prove to be effective alternative modalities in treatment of p
ost-juvenile periodontitis.
