Abstract
A single-mode fiber ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the shock-wave signal in air near plasma induced by a high power laser pulse irradia ting on a solid target. The relationship between shock-wave and laser irradiance is found. It is a useful technique for diagnosing laser-ind uced plasma without disturbing the plasma.
