B. Lefez et M. Lenglet, THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF THE INFRARED REFLECTANCE OF MULTILAYER OXIDE-FILMS ON METALS, Surface and interface analysis, 22(1-12), 1994, pp. 456-461
Theoretical calculations have been made for different single and duple
x systems (Cr2O3/Fe, MnCr2O4/Fe, MnCr2O4/Cr2O3/Fe and Cr2O3/MnCr2O4/Fe
) in order to study the initial stages of high temperature oxidation o
f AISI 304 and 316 stainless steels by FTIR specular reflectance spect
roscopy at variable incidence. Used in conjunction with physical metho
ds like SIMS or AES, the vibrational spectroscopy gives access to stru
ctural and compositional information in the analysis of multilayer sys
tems with a high level of complication.
