A. Arena et al., OPTICAL AND ELECTRONIC-PROPERTIES OF AG-TCNQ AND CU-TCNQ IN POLYMERICMATRIX, Surface and interface analysis, 22(1-12), 1994, pp. 511-514
The optical and electronic properties of the Cu- and Ag-TCNQ salts det
ermined by means of conventional spectrophotometry, reflection electro
n energy loss spectroscopy (REELS), and x-ray photoelectron spectrosco
py (XPS) measurements, are compared with those obtained for the copper
and the silver TCNQ salts dissolved into a polyethyleneimine matrix.
The optical properties of the obtained complexes differ substantially
from those of the starting compounds, in particular, because of the in
teraction between the CuTCNQ and the polyethyleneimine, the state of o
xidation of copper changes from Cu+1 to Cu+2. No meaningful changes ar
e observed in the shape and peak position of the Ag 3d peaks of the si
lver-based samples.
