Abstract
A 50-year-old man with long standing ankylosing spondylitis developed cauda equina syndrome, which was found to be coexistent with a spinal arterio-venous malformation. Paraplegia ensued following an acute exac erbation of back pain along with an attack of uveitis. Vasculitis chan ges were found on resected abnormal vessels.
