Abstract
Access to the gastrointestinal tract for nutritional purposes has trad itionally been established by the passage of naso-enteral tubes or the fashioning of stomata at open surgery. The past 10 years have seen th e development of numerous minimally invasive techniques for gaining su ch access. This article describes these new techniques and discusses t heir place in the surgical armamentarium.
