Abstract
Based on know-how developed at CSMCRI for the recovery of bromine from bittern, a number of plants are being operated in India. Repairs and maintenance of bromine plants pose number of problems. Some of them ar e related to chocking inside the packed tower are discussed in this ar ticle. Possible solutions are given with special reference to the plan ts based on inland bitterns as the raw material.
