On the basis of the recent preparation method of graphite oxyfluorides
, discharge characteristic studies of these compounds as cathode mater
ials in lithium-battery systems, using liquid or solid electrolytes, a
re reported. Their performances are compared with those of original gr
aphite oxide and graphite fluoride compounds. Good electrochemical beh
aviour is exhibited by graphite oxyfluoride which depends on the O/F r
atio, and on the origin of the starting material for its preparation.
