Abstract
We have studied the photophysics of linear trans-quinacridone films by applying a variety of transient and continuous wave photomodulation t echniques, Our experimental results demonstrate the ultrafast formatio n of excimer species which are responsible for the emission, The excim er decay kinetics seems to suggest a predominantly charge transfer cha racter of these emitting species, This is consistent with the long-liv ed states which we detected on the millisecond time scale.
