Abstract
Two new phenolic diarylheptanoids, ydroxy-7-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenyl -(1E)-1-heptene and ihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-1-phenyl-(1E)-1-heptene, were isolated from the rhizomes of Curcuma xanthorrhiza. The two comp ounds exhibited significant hypolipidemic action by inhibiting hepatic triglyceride secretion.
