Abstract
Exact solutions are obtained for the heat and mass transfer in a hydro magnetic flow of the visco-elastic fluid over a stretching surface. Th e solutions for the heat and mass transfer characteristics are evaluat ed numerically for different parameters, such as the modified Prandtl number P-r, the magnetic parameter M, the surface temperature index S , and the modified Schmidt number S-c It is observed that both the fl uid temperature and the mass concentration increase due to the existen ce of the magnetic field, and the mass transfer coefficient at the wal l decreases as the modified Schmidt number decreases. The analysis pre sented in this paper is more general than any previous investigation. (C) 1994 Academic Press,Inc.
