An assessment of the human health risks associated with residues of an
tibacterials and antiparasitics in foods of animal origin was undertak
en. These compounds are widely used in the production of food animals
to prevent and treat disease, and to promote growth. The assessment is
organized so as to combine information on the hazards posed by these
residues with data on exposure to arrive at recommendations for risk m
anagement and avoidance.
