Abstract
7-Methoxy-8-hydroxy and 10-hydroxyellipticines have been synthesised u
sing Pivaloyl esters for regioselective deactivation and steric protec
tion of reactive ring-A positions; the final cyclisation sequence has
been analysed by H-1-NMR.
