The Jetset internal target experiment at LEAR is devoted to the study
of hadronic resonances in the channel ppBAR --> psipsi within the inva
riant mass range 2.0-2.4 GeV/c2. Without a magnet for momentum analysi
s, the kinematic reconstruction of the final state has relied upon tra
ck directions and dE/dx. In 1999 a compact RICH detector based upon a
quartz radiator and a unique cellular MWPC operated with TMAE was inst
alled in the forward region of the experiment. Data with the RICH in o
peration were taken during the two Jetset running periods that year, w
ith performance in agreement with Monte Carlo simulations. Initial res
ults from the analysis of this data are presented.
