NURSING SHORTAGES AND HUMAN-RESOURCE PLANNING

This paper takes a broad based international perspective in examining the issue of nursing shortages. The role of human resource planning is discussed, and policy interventions to prevent shortages or ameliorat e their effects are assessed and recommendations for action are made. The paper draws on published research from a number of countries and i dentifies key issues common to all countries.
